501© 3 organization established in 2012 to assist with small home repairs concerning health and safety issues and housing resources for the following: Limited resource, elderly, disabled, and veterans.
Mission
Elimination of unsafe and unhealthy substandard housing and homelessness in Gates County utilizing community collaboration strategies.
Program Costs
The Gates County Housing Committee operates on donations, grantsmanship, and volunteers. To maximize resources a small co-payment will be charged to assist with the off-setting cost for small home repairs where allowable. Co-payment will be based on income and must be paid upon approval of an application and before repairs are made.
Housing Committee Membership Recruitment Needs
- Volunteers of all skill levels Licensed tradesmen needed; unskilled labor
- Engagement of Pastors and/or other Church Representatives; Committee Members
Referrals For Housing Repairs
Qualifications: Elderly, Disabled, Low-Income, Veterans
Procedure: Complete housing application with accurate information. Submit as directed on the application. Failure to provide accurate and complete information will delay the application decision. A housing representative will follow up with your application and contact you concerning the status.
